Hot or Cold Cheese?
Lemaire's cheese factory is a family business since 1956. Three different kinds of cheese are made here: Cheddar cheese, round or curd, Swiss Lemaire cheese and the low-fat Voltigeur cheese (light Monterey Jack-type). The visitor can also find cheeses seasoned with garlic or herbs, as well as cheeses from other regions. Each day, around 3 p.m., it is possible to taste and buy warm curd cheese. A real delight! Lately, visitors can sit in the adjoining restaurant and eat its specialties: poutine (curd cheese, brown gravy and fries) and grilled hamburgers. While eating, you can enjoy the panoramic window with its view on the cheese factory.
