A Long Time Ago…

Situated in a beautiful setting close to the shores of the Saint-François River, the Village Québécois d'Antan is the only francophone site classified as an important cultural heritage zone. This typical 19^th century village makes you relive the years 1810 to 1910. With 70 buildings, 22 authentic houses of the period and 18 economuseums related to traditional occupations, the Village Québécois d'Antan will literally plunge you in the past.

Also, your visit will definitely be punctuated by many daily scenes of the time with dozen of villagers, musicians and other characters who are living in the village. You will thus witness customary activities and ancient techniques which were necessary at that time for the survival of the village. Ideally situated between Montreal and Quebec City, the Village Québécois d'Antan is therefore a must-see in order to rediscover the past of Quebec.
