Moulin Michel de Gentilly

Open year round

Cultural heritage to visit

The Moulin Michel de Gentilly was built alongside the St. Lawrence River in 1774, at the time of New France. Still today, it produces flour the same way it used to do in the past, which makes it a rare product. Its ancient hydraulic mechanisms still grind wheat and buckwheat the way it did before, that is to say on a stone. For this reason, the mill was classified historic monument in 1985. In summer, when the weather allows it, it's possible to appreciate the authentic taste of the buckwheat flour in a pancake, sitting on the terrace.
