The parish of Sainte-Angèle-de-Laval in Bécancour was founded in 1867. The stone church construction started the same year and ended in 1870. The church's patron saint is Sainte-Angèle de Mérici who, in 1535, founded the Sainte-Ursule Company. Her statue is in the bell tower's niche, built in 1871, along with three bells. The church's stained-glass windows and the paintings that decorate the walls date back from 1894. Some furniture and paintings in the church, along with the altar and the canopy, were passed on by the Corporation du Séminaire de Nicolet. The Casavant organ was built in 1945 but installed in 1954. The sacristy and the cemetery must also be seen.
