Rodolphe the Engraver

The Maison Rodolphe-Duguay is a beautiful house built around 1835. In 1891, it saw the future painter-engraver come to life. Later on, he completed his education in Europe. When he came back, his father built him a replica of the studio he had in France in the backyard. This studio is called l'Ermitage. In the Canadian artistic circle, Duguay was considered as one of the masters in his field during the first half of the 20th century. In1977, four years after Duguay's death, the house became a historic building. Today, his work is exposed as well as works by other Quebecer artists. From time to time, recitals are presented and the legend of Alexis le Trotteur is told. A guided tour of the house is also possible.
