Victoriaville is probably the most known city of the Bois-Francs’ region. But it’s also Warwick with its cheese (Fromage Côté) as well as Kingsey Falls and its parc Marie-Victorin. The region is hilly, due to the Appalachians, but is also one of plain because of the St-Lawrence River not far away.
Here, we smell different scents and taste different flavours. First of all, wood scent. Maple is surely on top of the list, and its sap allows us to savour delicious sweet meals. Then there are other hard woods used in construction to built houses and buildings.
Secondly, cow scent… Well, yes, this is quite unpleasant but eventually the cow gives us milk, cheese and other dairy products everyone appreciates. It is not surprising to learn that the most beautiful and important Canadian dairy farms are in this tourist region.
Finally, natural scent, which is quite appealing in the region! Here, there is a garden with its flowers and plants; there, the Centre d’interprétation de la canneberge with its lightly bitter taste, and in the distance, the specific scent of the Leather Economuseum.
Don’t forget about the Victorian houses, Victoriaville’s pride and joy. They are part of the region’s cultural heritage. Nor should the sportsmen and women forget about the bicycle paths (the Route verte) and the golf courses.
